Contacts

NCI is quite a large organization, and it is not always clear who to contact. One of the people listed here should be able to direct you to the appropriate person:

Administrivia

Behind the scenes there are a number of responsible administrative roles that help NCI function, day-to-day. These roles are organized into teams, and each has an appointed secretary (listed above) to act as a communications contact. One of the challenges of a large volunteer organization is trying to find ways to balance workload, so that no individual volunteer winds up overburdened.

Structure

Where's the board of directors?
There isn't one. It was restructured out.

The focus here is on communication and responsibility, and not on power or authority (though they are not completely absent). We all help each-other, and what we all help each-other to do is to help new users. So, if your team needs to set or change guidelines or requirements or needs things done differently, please listen to them and do what you can to help out with that.

Having and maintaining our standards and our principles makes us more effective in meeting our goal: Helping new users.

Who do I talk to?
If you're a Second Life user needing assistance, talk to any NCI helper at one of our campuses, or ask your question on the group IM. If your query is more to do with the organization itself, one of the contacts above would be the place to start.
